What Do You Really Want?
Multi-colored Screenprint on PaperText seen in image is not mine. Artist credit unknown. This multi-layer screenprint explores emotional tension through overprinting, halftone imagery, and bold typographic intervention. By intentionally layering color, texture, and misalignment, the piece reflects the weight of internal pressure and the conflict between outward strength and private struggle. The overprint process becomes both a technical and conceptual device building intensity through accumulation, overlap, and a controlled distortion.
I created this piece to visually translate the emotional weight described in the text, focusing on the tension between appearing strong on the outside while struggling internally. Through multi-layer screenprinting, halftone imagery, and bold typography, I used overprinting and intentional misalignment to build a sense of pressure, distortion, and accumulation—mirroring how those feelings stack over time. This project reflects my interest in using process as meaning, where each layer not only adds visual intensity but also represents the complexity of hidden emotional experiences.
